Reminisce, DJ Jimmy Jatt, Daddy Showkey to perform at Mega Youth Concert in celebration of Lagos Youth Week 2018 | Sunday, August 12th

No fewer than 10,000 youths would converge at Agege Stadium, Agege-Lagos on Sunday, August 12th, 2018 for the Mega Youth Concert, the final event of the Lagos Youth Week 2018.

The Mega Youth Concert will wrap up the week-long celebration of the Lagos Youth Week organised by Rise Networks, Nigeria’s leading Social Enterprise in Youth and Educational Development with the support of the Lagos State Government in commemoration of the UN International Youth Day 2018.

A solid line up of some of Nigeria’s biggest music stars especially those with street credibility and huge following amongst the masses including Idowest, Reminisce, 9ice, SlimCase, CDQ, Ms Kiss, Daddy Showkey, Small Doctor will be performing live at the concert.

Legendary Nigerian DJ Jimmy Jatt will be the official DJ for the concert and while the Concert is free, guests are meant to attend showing that they are active citizens by presenting their Temporary Voters Card or Permanent Voters Card at the point of entry.

 

Founder of Rise Networks, the Social Enterprise that put the concert togeth, Toyosi Akerele- Ogunsiji in a media parley ahead of the event stated that the Lagos Youth Week is being held under the theme for the UN International Youth Day 2018, “Safe Spaces for Youth” and the Lagos Youth Week will programme of activities are aimed at creating safe spaces for Youth through education, economic empowerment and political inclusion especially young People at the grassroots who rarely get the opportunity of expression to showcase their talents, skills, entrepreneurship and leadership capabilities..

She also said that the Concert was created to leverage the power of entertainment in uniting and enlightening young people about their Civic Duties with the goal of driving Voter Registration, citizen participation in the governance process and ensuring that Young people, who form the predominant demographic of Nigeria’s Population vote and stand to be represented in the forthcoming 2019 elections. Rise Networks plans to replicate this initiative Nationwide and is thankful for the support of the Lagos State Government under the Visionary Leadership of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode and all the corporate and media partners who have thrown their weight behind the Organization.
